From The Vault - Sexy Witch 2002

With the way Blogger has been acting this past week I wondered if I'd even be able to put up a new blog post anytime soon. But, it looks like, for now, everything is fixed and back on track. I did lose a comment or two here or there but at least the last few days of posts are back up and where they belong.

Because I wasn't sure if the blog would be working today I didn't search the vault too thoroughly. I didn't even look to find something new to scan in. And when I don't do that I usually look in a few files I have on the computer and see what I can find.

And that's when I ran across this piece from 2002.

At the time I was messing around a lot with marker sketches based on photos. This one was a friend of mine named Lori and I remember snapping this shot of her right before a Halloween party. If all witches out there looked like her I doubt we'd be half as scared of them as we were when we were kids. Or maybe they all looked like this when we were kids and we were just too young to notice.

Either way I really liked the way this came out. I used mostly regular sharpie markers as well as a few un-named felt tips and gray markers for the tones. I went back afterward with a touch of white out to give the shine in her leather a little more oompf.

All in all, not a bad piece pulled quickly from the vault. I just hope Lori liked it. And I hope you like it too.

Have a great weekend!
