2014 Denver Anomaly Convention

Monika and I headed down to Denver last weekend to set up an OilCan Drive table and attend the annual Denver Anomaly Con held in the Denver Tech Center.

I was originally approached by the show runner of the convention at last year's Denver Comic Con and was offered a table if I would sit on a few panels and share some of my thoughts. While the convention wasn't nearly as busy as the Denver Comic Con (and, honestly, few cons are now as busy as the Denver Comic Con) it went really well, we met some new friends, and hopefully made some new fans.

The biggest problem for me was actually waking up when normal people wake up and commuting somewhere for a few days. Working from a home studio has definitely spoiled me and you can't beat the commute or office hours I have. But, even though I'm not used to it, I wasn't late for anything and everything went great.

Monika had fun dressing up as Lily from the OilCan Drive comic book and brought a bunch of people over to the table. She looked too cute every day of the weekend and had fun the whole time.

The best part of the convention was all the costumed people wandering by. The Anomaly Con caters mostly to the steampunk crowd and, let me tell you, those people LOVE dressing up. So, for them to have a whole weekend where they could let their imagination run wild was really fun to see. We got to see a bunch of great costumes.

It was a great weekend. I got to do something different, I got to talk about my book to new people, and I got to meet a bunch of new friends. And you can't beat that.

Now I am back in the studio catching up on work and penciling and inking the newest OilCan Drive pages. But, don't worry, it won't be too long until I bring the project out into the world again.

For now, here are a few other pictures from the convention. Enjoy and I'll talk to you all soon!
